The 33-year-old world and European Champion announced the end of his career. He said this year is his last season: "The Summer Olympic Games in Paris will be my last big competition."
It should be noted that Guliyev protected the honor of the Azerbaijan national team until 2011. Later, our compatriot, who wore the "moon-star" uniform, won the title of World Champion in 2017, and European Champion 1 year later. Guliyev was chosen as the best athlete of 2018 in Turkiye.
