Kipyegon Bett died at 27

Kenyan Kipyegon Bett, the World Champion among teenagers and bronze medalist in the 800 m race among adults, died at the age of 27.

Idman.biz reports that there was damage to his liver and multiple organs.

Kipyegon was banned for doping due to testing positive for EPO, the blood-boosting performance-enhancing drug. The Kenyan, who returned to the sport after serving his sentence in 2022, could not continue his career due to health problems.

He was the 2017 U20 World Champion in the 800-metre event.
