British athlete Robbie Fitzibbon died at the age of 28.
The athlete's club Brighton Phoenix shared about it, Idman.biz reports.
The cause of the athlete's death has not been reported. It was announced that he died on October 7.
Fitzibbon first joined the Phoenix at the age of 12 and has represented Great Britain at international level, including several Diamond League tournaments.
Robbie's last appearance on the international stage was at the 2019 European Indoor Championships in Glasgow, where he suffered an ankle injury. After that, he could not participate in international competitions at this level.
Fitzgibbon was expected to take part in next year's Brighton Marathon. The athlete's father said that he will run instead of him in this marathon to honor his son's memory.
