Azerbaijani athlete Ramil Guliyev, who represented Turkiye national team, has officially retired.
Speaking with Idman.biz, the 34-year-old world champion confirmed his decision but mentioned he might return under special circumstances: “I have ended my professional career. If needed, I may compete in a relay team. However, I have yet to discuss this with the federation. For now, I only train for personal enjoyment.”
Notably, the world and European champion was sidelined last year due to an injury. He attempted to return to competition in time for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics but did not qualify.
