Idman.biz reports that Uzeyir Soylemez, the winner of the ultramarathon competition held in Azerbaijan, said this in his statement to journalists.
The Turkish athlete emphasized that he loves the city of Baku very much: "The spirituality of the people here is very different. As we always say, we are two states and one nation. I feel like in my homeland."
He said that he took part in a 100-kilometer run for the first time in his career: "Everything was very well organized. I wish success to all participants."
It should be noted that a 100 km ultramarathon run dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the great leader Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijani athletics was held.
