The list of the smallest clubs in the history of the Champions League in the group stage has been determined.
Idman.biz reports that Azerbaijan champion Qarabag was included in the top 10 announced by "Givemesport" portal.
In the 2017/18 season, the team coached by Gurban Gurbanov became the author of the only such success in the history of Azerbaijan football, advancing to the group of the most prestigious club tournament of the continent. At that time, Qarabag, which was fighting with Chelsea, Roma and Atletico, is one of the 10 smallest teams that achieved such success.
"Givemesport" based on the clubs' financial status, history, number of fans and spectators, as well as the population of the city it represents, considered Qarabag the 4th smallest team in the history of the Champions League. Only Unirea, Sherif and Astana have advanced to the group, although they are behind in criteria such as history and lower budget compared to our representative.
