Romanian head coach Adrian Mutu, who left Neftchi, announced the reason for choosing the Baku club.
Idman.biz reports with reference to the Romanian press that he changed the local Rapid to the "Whites and Blacks" due to financial reasons.
Mutu admitted that the offer of the Azerbaijani club was very attractive from the financial side: “My departure from Rapid was not planned. Only the good financial offer from Neftchi was decisive. I spoke with the management and left for Azerbaijan."
It should be noted that Mutu led Neftchi in 23 games. Under his leadership, the team won 10 of these matches and drew 5 of them. In 8 matches, he was disappointed with the defeat.
