Today, a meeting was held at the Neftchi Football Center with the participation of active members of the Forza Neftchi fan group, club representatives - Chief Executive Officer Cenk Sumer, Media Coordinator Rustam Afsarli and Azerbaijani football player Ervin Koffi.
The meeting discussed what happened after the match with Sabail in the II round of the Premier League, Idman.biz reports.
Koffi expressed his regret for the unpleasant incident with the fans after the game, apologized saying that he acted with emotions caused by fatigue and stress caused by the result, and he did not intend to disrespect the fans in any way.
The fans accepted this with understanding and accepted the player's apology, including saying that the person who threw a foreign object at Koffi from the stands was not a member of the Forza Neftchi fan group.
The club stated that it was conducting an investigation into what happened immediately after the match, and announced that measures were taken against the player based on internal disciplinary rules.
Both sides expressed confidence that similar incidents will not happen again in the future.
