Olavio Juninho: “Point losses are inevitable” - INTERVIEW

Qarabag forward Olavio Juninho shared his thoughts on the goalless draw (0-0) in the 12th round of the Misli Premier League against Turan Tovuz, emphasizing the value of earning a point in a challenging match.

According to Idman.biz, the Brazilian forward responded to questions from sportinfo.az.

- How do you feel after fighting for 82 minutes on an artificial pitch?

- It’s not a surface we’re used to. Most of the time, we play on natural grass, which feels more comfortable. It was a tough game regardless, and facing a team like Turan Tovuz proved it. They play hard and fight until the end.

- Was this point a gain for Qarabag, or did you lose two points?

- Considering that they are our closest followers in the standings and we were away on an artificial pitch, I think one point is reasonable. Every point we earn in the league matters to us.

- Did the end of your seven-game winning streak affect the team?

- Personally, I don’t pay much attention to such things. Our goal is to win every match, though it doesn’t always happen. Sometimes, point losses are inevitable.

- How do you explain Qarabag’s recent five-game losing streak in European competitions?

- Each game has its reasons, and it’s hard to pinpoint one specific factor. We’ve faced teams with extensive experience in European competitions. If we weren’t playing well or creating scoring chances, it would be different. But in every game, we’ve had at least three solid chances. Certain moments just impact the final outcome. I’m confident that the victories will return.
