General Assembly of the Azerbaijan Badminton Federation held - PHOTO

The Azerbaijan Badminton Federation held its General Assembly, chaired by its president, Taleh Ziyadov, with participation from coaches, athletes, referees, and technical staff.

According to Idman.biz, the meeting covered key topics such as the annual report, a 4-year development strategy, last year’s financial report, and amendments to the Federation’s charter.

During the session, Secretary General Ramil Hajiyev presented a comprehensive report on the development strategy for the next four years and the Federation’s financial achievements from last year.

Head Coach Morteza Validarvi highlighted Azerbaijan's advancement in the international rankings due to successful tournament performances, emphasizing the formation of a competitive team across various age groups.

Marketing Director Aydan Mammadhasanova discussed the progress made in the area of refereeing, noting that Azerbaijani referees have been invited to several international competitions in 2024.

Former national team player and current coach Orkhan Galandarov delivered a presentation on the growth of amateur badminton, discussing steps taken to increase the sport's popularity and participation.

Elections for the Federation’s board were held, with Kamala Shahbazova and Teymur Huseynov chosen as the new vice presidents, while Elio Bevilacqua and Jeyhun Mammadaliyev were elected as board members.

The assembly concluded with an open discussion, where Taleh Ziyadov expressed that one of the main goals for the next four years is to increase the number of active badminton players to 10,000.
