The opponents of Azerbaijan’s 3x3 women's basketball team in the qualification stage for the Paris-2024 Olympic Games have been announced.
Idman.biz reports that the Azerbaijani team will first compete in the FIBA Universal Classification competition.
In the tournament, which will take place on April 12-14, the Azerbaijani national team will face the teams of the Netherlands, Mongolia and Chile in group B. The top two teams in the group games to be held in Hong Kong will qualify for the semi-finals. The winner of the qualifying round will qualify for the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games.
If they fail to fulfill the license duty in the first test, the national team will participate in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament. In the competition to be held in Debrecen, Hungary on May 16-19, they will face the teams of Germany, Poland and Tunisia in Group A. According to the regulations, 16 teams will compete in four groups. The first two teams in the groups will qualify for the playoffs. In the end, the first 3 national teams in the Qualifying Stage will get a license to the Olympics.
It should be noted that if Azerbaijan wins at the FIBA Universal Qualification stage, they will not participate in the tournament in Hungary.
