The Turkish specialist, who was the head coach of Sarhadchi in the Azerbaijan Basketball League last season, has not yet decided which club he will work for in the new year. He said that the meetings of his last team are continuing: "But of course, I will work where the federation deems appropriate. I started working in the team from the second half of the last season. I made specific decisions. I built the team as I wanted. Revealing our own game philosophy, we played in the playoffs, advanced to the semi-finals of the cup, and lost to Sabah in the end. In my opinion, Sarhadchi ended the last season where it did not deserve."
Alkaya announced the name of another club that he can coach from the new season: “I am both the founder and general manager of Khirdalan. If the federation decides, I can work there. Everything will be clear in the near future."
Sarhadchi finished the regular championship under the leadership of Alkaya in the 6th place in the last season.
