Sabah’s Deandre Baldwin has made his mark in the history of the FIBA Europe Cup.
According to Idman.biz, the 28-year-old American achieved this feat during the first round match against Spirou.
Although his team lost the game 81-82, Baldwin was the hero of the match, scoring an impressive 39 points on his own.
With this performance, Baldwin now shares the third-highest scoring record in the history of the FIBA Europe Cup. Previously, John Roberson (Elan Chalon) and Spenser Butterfield (Nanter) both scored 39 points in March 2017, while Omar Calhoun from Kataja matched this record in November 2019.
Baldwin fell just two points short of the record. Trey Golden (Bahcesehir College) set the current record with 41 points in March 2020, while the previous record belonged to Rashawn Thomas (Dinamo Sassari) at 40 points.
As the sixth player in history to score 39 or more points, Baldwin showcased remarkable shooting accuracy, hitting 76% of his attempts. In addition to his scoring, he also recorded 7 rebounds and 3 assists, earning a utility rating of 43.
The FIBA Europe Cup has been held since 2015.
