The head coach of Maroussi, the Greek club competing against Sabah in the European Cup, Nikos Vetoulas, emphasized his team's intentions ahead of today’s match in Baku.
As reported by Idman.biz, Vetoulas stated:
"Sabah is the national champion, and their team under Rimas Kurtinaitis possesses typical elements, focusing more on attack and rhythm. We will not play the basketball that Sabah wants. They started well in the European Cup, narrowly losing by one point to Charleroi in their away game, which was an impressive performance."
He further explained the importance of adapting their playing style to avoid making mistakes:
"The key aspect of the game is not to get trapped in Sabah's style of play and to minimize errors. Naturally, our goal in every game is to win. While Maroussi has a long history in Europe, this team will have to adapt to playing two games a week. We believe this will contribute to us becoming a better team and making progress."
