The Azerbaijan women’s national basketball team played their latest match in the European Championship qualifiers.
According to Idman.biz, the team faced Lithuania, marking their third defeat in the qualifiers by a margin of 50 or more points.
This time, the team suffered a 61-point loss, with a final score of 47-108. This is the second-largest margin in the current qualifiers, with the record also held by Azerbaijan, who lost to Belgium by a 108-point difference.
In total, four matches in the qualifiers have ended with a 50-point or larger gap, three of which involved Azerbaijan. Besides Azerbaijan’s hat-trick of large-margin losses, only Ireland has suffered a defeat of this scale.
