Idman.biz reports that on the second day of the competition, 2 more athletes of the Azerbaijan national team joined the fight.
Zeynab Rahimova fought with Algerian Fatma Zohra Hadjala in the 1/32 final. The match, which took place in the weight class of 54 kg, ended with the victory of the Azerbaijani boxer. Rahimova defeated her opponent 4:1 (29:28, 30:27, 29:29, 30:27, 28:29).
The member of the national team will face Agerie Bayev (Ethiopia), who was released from the first round, in his next match. The meeting will be held on March 7.
Umid Rustamov (57 kg) celebrated the victory ahead of time. He defeated Navwaf Alzahmi (UAE) by knockout in the first round.
Rustamov will face Bakari Hassan (Kenya) in the 1/16 finals. The match will take place on March 8.
It should be noted that on the first day of the competition, Nijat Huseynov (51 kg) also won and reached the stage.
