Azerbaijani boxer Shahla Allahverdiyeva started the 1st World Olympic Qualifying Tournament held in Busto Arsizio, Italy with a victory.
Idman.biz reports that the member of the national team fighting for a license to Paris-2024 in 66 kg eliminated Ngoc Mai Hoang (Vietnam) from the competition in the 1/32 final round.
Allahverdiyeva will face Mariana Soto Torres (Spain), who was released from the first round, in the 1/16 finals. The meeting will be on March 8.
Nijat Huseynov (51 kg), Umid Rustamov (57 kg), Tayfur Aliyev (63.5 kg), Sarkhan Aliyev (71 kg) and Zeynab Rahimova (54 kg) also qualified.
It should be noted that the license tournament will be concluded on March 11.
