The semi-final matches of the U-23 European Boxing Championship have taken place in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Idman.biz reports that three Azerbaijani boxers secured victories in this stage and advanced to the finals.
Tural Sariyev (48 kg) faced Samet Oruc Salih (Turkiye) in the semi-final, winning 4:1 (30:27, 28:29, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27) and securing his spot in the final, where he will compete against Luis Rooney (Ireland).
In the 51 kg category, Nicat Huseynov also emerged victorious in his semi-final match against Omer Ametovic (Serbia), winning 5:0 (30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27). Huseynov will face Rudolf Garaboyan (Armenia) in the final.
Murad Allahverdiyev (80 kg) also triumphed in his semi-final bout, defeating Ahmed Mavric (Serbia) in all three rounds with a 5:0 (30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27) decision. He will meet César Yojerlin (France) in the final.
Nicat and Murad will compete in their finals on October 19, while Tural will step into the ring the following day.
Marjona Savriyeva (50 kg) won a bronze medal for Azerbaijan at the European Championship.
