FIDE announced the first ranking table of chess players for the new year.
Idman.biz reports that Shakhriyar Mamedyarov has the best performance among the members of the Azerbaijan national team in the January list.
The 39-year-old grandmaster moved up 2 places to 24th place. He has 2726 points in his asset. Teimour Radjabov maintained his position. He is again in 27th place with 2723 points.
While Rauf Mamedov (2651), who advanced by 3 places, rose to the 87th place, Nijat Abbasov, who was 98th in the last list, left the "100".
Norwegian Magnus Carlsen (2830) leads the rating table. He is followed by USA honorees Fabiano Caruana (2,804) and Ding Liren (2,788).
Gunay Mammadzada has the best score among the Azerbaijani female chess players. She advanced 1 step. The 26th ranked team member has 2449 points. Ulviyya Fataliyeva (2384) ranked 64th, Govhar Beydullayeva (2374) ranked 77th, Gulnar Mammadova (2351) ranked 97th, and Khanim Balajayeva (2350) ranked 99th.
The list is headed by Yifan Hou (2632) from China. Hampi Koneru (India, 2554) took the second place, and Aleksandra Goryachkina (FIDE, 2553) took the third place.
