FIDE announced the March ranking of chess players.
Idman.biz reports that Shakhriyar Mamedyarov has the best score among the members of the Azerbaijan national team.
The 39-year-old grandmaster moved up 7 places and returned to 20th. Mammedyarov, who has 2734 points in his assets, ranked 19th.
Teymur Rajabov maintained his position. He is again 25th with 2723 points.
The other Azerbaijani grandmaster Rauf Mamedov (2651) also advanced. The national member, ahead of 3 competitors, rose to the 85th place. Nijat Abbasov left the top 100 again after a one-month break.
Norwegian Magnus Carlsen (2830) leads the rating table. He is followed by USA honors Fabiano Caruana (2804) and Hikaru Nakamura (2789).
Gunay Mammadzada has the best score among the female chess players. She dropped 1 place and has 2449 points. Ulviyya Fataliyeva (2384) ranked 67th, Govhar Beydullayeva (2374) ranked 77th, Gulnar Mammadova (2351) ranked 102nd. Ulviyya and Gulnar fell by 2 places, Govhar by 1 place.
The list is headed by Yifan Hou (2632) from China. Wenjun Ju (China, 2559) took the second place, Alexandra Goryachkina (FIDE, 2554) took the third place.
