The next International Chess Festival Baku Open - 2024 will be held with the joint support of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation (ACF) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
As per Idman.biz, in addition to Azerbaijan, chess players from Bulgaria, Georgia, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkiye, Ukraine, USA, Uzbekistan and participants with the FIDE flag will perform in the tournament dedicated to the 100th anniversary of FIDE.
Azerbaijani chess players Rauf Mammadov, Gadir Huseynov, Aydin Suleymanli, Muhammad Muradli, including Gunay Mammadzada, Govhar Beydullayeva, Ulviyya Fataliyeva, Khanim Balajayeva, Gulnar Mammadova and others will compete in the Baku Open - 2024 International Chess Festival.
more than 300 chess players have registered to participate in A and B groups of the competition. The tournament held according to the Swiss system will consist of 9 rounds.
The total prize fund of the festival, which will be hosted by the Baku Sports Palace, was equal to 50,000 US dollars. The opening ceremony of the festival will start on June 29 at 14:30.
