Azerbaijani chess player Vugar Rasulov won third place in the international tournament held in Cesme, Turkiye.
As Idman.biz reports, he did not start the competition well, losing twice in the first four rounds.
Rasulov later won five consecutive victories. Victory over Alexander Kharitonov (FIDE) in the last round allowed Vugar to collect 7 points and catch up with the leaders. He was behind local chess player Arpaslan Isik and second place Vladislav Kovalyov (FIDE) only according to additional indicators.
75 chess players from 14 countries participated in the tournament.
