Chess competitions have started at the 5th European University Games held in Hungary.
Idman.biz reports, the team consisting of Vugar Manafov and Elmar Atakishiyev, representing the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sports (ASAPES), won the rapid competition.
Having collected 15 points in 9 rounds, the chess players took the first place among 17 teams.
Blitz chess competitions will be organized today.
