The final stage of the Champions Chess Tour 2024 has started.
Idman.biz reports that the participants started their performances with classification competitions consisting of 9 rounds according to the Swiss system.
Azerbaijani grandmaster Vasif Durarbayli is among the chess players who won the right to compete in the next stage. He scored 6.5 points out of 9 possible points and took the 8th place. Vladimir Fedoseyev (Slovenia) won first place in the qualifying round with 7.5 points.
Previously Magnus Carlsen, Alireza Firouzja, and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave reached the final of the Champions Chess Tour 2024.
