Vasif Durarbayli to compete in European Chess Championship

Vasif Durarbayli will participate in the European Chess Championship, set to take place in Petrovac, Montenegro, from November 8 to 19.

As reported by Idman.biz, the grandmaster residing in the United States has submitted his application to compete in this continental championship, which will qualify players for the World Chess Championship.

The tournament will feature 150 chess players, with Slovenia's Vladimir Fedoseyev as the top-ranking favorite. Among Azerbaijani participants, the highest-rated grandmaster is Rauf Məmmədov, ranked 22nd overall.

Other Azerbaijani competitors include Eltaj Safarli, Aydin Suleymanli, Mahammad Muradli, Vugar Rasulov, Ahmad Ahmadzada, Misratdin Iskandarov, Riad Samadov, Namig Guliyev, Khazar Babazada, Vugar Manafov, Khagan Ahmad, Govhar Beydullayeva, Ayan Allahverdiyeva, Shiroghlan Talibov, Orxan Abdulov, Allahverdi Həmidov, Shahin Valiyev, Umid Aslanov, Eljan Abdulkarimli, Orkhan Baghirov, and Kamran Valizada, all of whom will also compete in the European Championship.
