Today, the European Chess Championship begins in Petrovac, Montenegro, with 22 Azerbaijani players participating.
Idman.biz reports that the Azerbaijani team includes notable players like Rauf Mammadov, Eltaj Safarli, Aydin Suleymanli, Mahammad Muradli, Vugar Rasulov, Vasif Durarbayli, and several others.
A total of 395 players, including 125 grandmasters, will compete in the tournament. Based on the championship results, 20 spots for the World Championship will also be determined.
