A special chess masterclass led by two-time World and European Champion Antoaneta Stefanova was held at the National Carpet Museum, organized by the Azerbaijan Chess Federation.
According to the federation, the event was attended by Mahir Mammadov, President of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation and Vice President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE), who emphasized that the primary goal was to support the development of young and aspiring chess players into professional athletes, Idman.biz reports.
During the session, which brought together 20 young chess enthusiasts, Stefanova shared insights about her journey to success and key moments from her illustrious career. The event also featured discussions on chess openings, strategic situations, and an interactive Q&A session where participants had the opportunity to ask the grandmaster their questions.
At the end of the masterclass, all participants received certificates and special gifts.
The Azerbaijan Chess Federation regularly organizes various initiatives and events aimed at fostering a love for sports among youth and promoting their healthy development.
