"Masters" International Chess Festival has ended in Abu Dhabi.
According to İdman.biz, a number of Azerbaijani chess players, including grandmaster Aydin Suleymanli, took part here. After nine rounds, he collected 6 points and took the twelfth place. Suleymanli beat the Olympic champion Javakhir Sindarov as a member of the Uzbekistan national team. Although both scored the same number of points, Suleymanli had the best additional indicators.
Other Azerbaijani chess players who were half a point behind Aydin were Khazar Babazade (29th place) and Vugar Manafov (31st place).
The winner of the tournament was Vladimir Fedoseyev, who played for the Slovenian national team. He has 7 points.
In total, 145 players from 24 countries participated in the competition.
