Ahmet Duman (61 kg), a freestyle wrestling member of the Turkish national team, told İdman.biz.
He evaluated the performance of the Moon Stars at EURO-2024. According to Duma, Turkey defeated the Czech Republic 2:1 in the last match in the group, which indicates its potential to advance to the R16 finals: "Our footballers and athletes always fight for our flag. We must always trust each of our teams. Also, our players in the national team should believe in their potential and perform. I am sure that we will continue our fight in the European Championship until the last drop of our blood."
He said that they watched the tense match together with the national wrestlers who will represent Turkiye at the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games: "I can assure you that until the final whistle of the game, we were the same. We were in Kastomonu for preparation. On the occasion of Gabala, people from all over the city marched in the square with flags either by car or on foot. This victory really made us very happy and proud as a nation."
Duman emphasized that although the opponent of the Moon Stars in the 1/8 finals is strong, he believes in his team: "Austria is one of the strong teams. Many even consider them champions. But I trust our national team. I think we will win this match 2:1."
The match between Austria and Turkiye will be held on July 2.
