Azerbaijani athlete Abbas Huseynov won a silver medal in the individual competition in which more than 150 male saber fencers competed, Idman.biz reports.
Azerbaijani fencer, who won all his matches in the group stage (5 victories), defeated his opponents representing Romania, Egypt, Great Britain, Bulgaria and Turkey in the playoffs and advanced to the finals. He lost to the Turkish fencer Yigit Ayaz in the final with a score of 6:15 and was awarded a silver medal in the Cadet Circuit stage competition in Istanbul.
