- You have started the preparations for the matches with Hungary and Switzerland in the qualifying round of the European Championship. How is the mood in the team?
- We have been together since July 1. We train once a day. The team has great morale.
- What is the physical condition of the players?
- This does not satisfy me a bit. The reason is that most of our girls play in Turkiye. After the championship, they practice only according to the instructions given by us. They have not seen team training. I hope to maximize their form by July 12. The meeting with Hungary is very important for us.
- Rivals started preparations earlier than us. What is the reason for your late start to training?
- I don't think we started preparations late. Some time ago, we trained with girls from Baku. There were about 12 of them. Our plans were disrupted by the late arrival of our players playing in Turkiye. Since the start of the championship was not known, the girls were released a little late. Since our players play both nationally and in the championship, we decided to give them a rest. But I still don't think we got together late.
- After the victory over Turkiye, your chances to qualify increased. How realistic do you think this is?
- When the opponents in the group were known, we made a plan for ourselves. We saw Switzerland as the leader of this group. We expected a good game from Hungary. We considered Turkiye to have the same strength. We thought that we would not lose until this match, we will collect 4 points. Unfortunately, we lost to Switzerland. We wanted to win at least 1 point against Turkiye. We did not achieve that either. But by drawing with Hungary and winning at home against Turkiye, we increased our score to 4. The point we will win in the match against Hungary can take us to the playoffs. If it is 3 points, we can take the second place. This means that we will stay in the B division. I hope so.
- Hungary won against Switzerland. What tactics will you choose against this national team in Baku?
- We didn't want Hungary to beat Switzerland. Unfortunately, this happened. I think the best defense is offense. We play at home. I hope the fans will support us. This will give us strength. Although they were few in the match with Turkiye, they supported the team until the end. We don't think about sitting in defense in the match against Hungary. Our plan is to have more possession in the opponent's court.
