Egyptian footballer Ahmed Refaat dies at 31

Ahmaf Refaat, a footballer of the Egyptian Future club, died today at the age of 31.

The cause of death of the football player is not disclosed. Shortly before his death, Refaat's condition worsened and he was taken to the hospital.

On March 11 of this year, the striker's heart stopped in the match with Al-Ittihad (0:0) of the 16th round of the Egyptian Championship. He lost consciousness and fell on the lawn, after which he was rushed to a hospital in Egypt. It was noted that the football player's heart did not beat for about an hour and then resumed its activity. After 1 month in the hospital, the player was discharged and continued his treatmentOn March 11, during a league match versus Ittihad of Alexandria, Refaat experienced a health crisis. He went into cardiac arrest, but was revived on the scene and remained unconscious for several days. On March 25, the forward was moved from Alexandria to Cairo for additional medical care after being admitted to the hospital there. April 11 was his discharge date, but he kept up his pacemaker use and treatment. On June 23, Refaat made his last appearance in public on MBC Masr 2. Although the cause of his passing has not been formally revealed, it is thought to be connected to the cardiac issues he experienced earlier this year.

Ahmaf Refaat played 7 games for the Egyptian national team and scored 2 goals.
