Anders Palsson, the Chairman of Malmö FF, expressed his excitement as the team prepares to arrive in Baku for their upcoming match, as reported by Idman.biz.
In a statement ahead of their visit, Palsson shared, "I will arrive tonight together with the team. It’s the first time for me and many of our players in Azerbaijan."
Palsson reflected on Qarabag’s performance in their previous match against Tottenham, noting, "I saw Qarabag playing against Tottenham. It was unlucky for them. Qarabag plays modern good football. Very technical team with a lot of different competences. Qarabag has experience playing in Europe also. They know how to be successful, especially in Baku."
Acknowledging the challenge ahead, he said, "Difficult game for us. I hope we can show a good performance."
Looking back at Malmö FF's historic achievements, including being runners-up in the 1978-79 European Cup, Palsson was asked about the possibility of replicating such success in the near future. He remarked, "1979 was a great year for us! Very good team. Difficult to repeat. We always want to win. CL final again? No outside the opportunities. The football industry has changed since 1979!"
