In response to ongoing speculation regarding his potential appointment as head coach of Neftchi, Arif Asadov, the former coach of the Azerbaijan national team, shared his insights with Idman.biz.
"I have also heard news about this," Asadov remarked, acknowledging the rumors circulating in the media. However, he clarified that there has been no official communication from Neftchi regarding the vacant head coach position following the dismissal of Roman Hryhorchuk.
"This does not reflect any truth," he stated firmly. "The Neftchi management did not contact me about the head coach role, and there were no negotiations in any form. In other words, nothing is real about me holding this post in the current situation."
Asadov is unemployed after leaving the national team.
