Neftchi Baku has become the most unsuccessful club in the career of their former head coach Roman Hryhorchuk.
The Baku club was the only team under Hryhorchuk's leadership that did not achieve a victory, remaining winless throughout his tenure, according to Idman.biz.
During his time at Neftchi, Hryhorchuk oversaw 9 matches but failed to secure a single win. This marked a significant departure from his previous coaching experiences, as he had worked with 8 clubs throughout his career and had never left a position without a victory prior to this. Notably, Hryhorchuk had two stints each with Chernomorets and Metalurh Zaporizhzhia and had enjoyed success at his previous roles.
While his time at Neftchi represents his most prolonged winless streak, it is not his shortest tenure as a head coach. In October-November 2009, Hryhorchuk left Zaporizhzhia after managing only 3 matches, although he did experience victory during that brief period. His departure from Metallurg lasted only 28 days, after which he was reappointed as head coach.
Since beginning his coaching career in 2000, Hryhorchuk has managed various teams, including Dinaburg and Ventspils in Latvia, Metallurg and Chernomorets in Ukraine, Gabala in Azerbaijan, Shakhtar in Belarus, and Astana in Kazakhstan, before taking on the role at Neftchi.
