"I am glad if I have created a positive impression in people's minds. However, I still need to develop further. I am constantly working on myself for this reason."
This statement was made by Zamiq Aliyev, the defender who has received his first call-up to the Azerbaijan national team.
The 23-year-old footballer expressed his thoughts on being selected for the national team. He aims to secure his place in the squad and achieve good results: "I am very grateful that one of my biggest dreams and goals has come true. I feel proud and happy to be called up to the national team. I will do everything I can to ensure my place in the team is secure. If I am in the squad, it means I am ready to play. If given the chance, I will work hard to prove myself. Regardless of who plays, we will all give our best for the national team."
Aliyev, who transferred to Albania's Egnatia club at the beginning of the season, also highlighted that this year has been successful for him: "This year has started well for me. I am taking steps toward advancing in my career. However, this is just the beginning. The journey is long, and my goals are significant. I am working with all my strength to approach my aspirations step by step."
The Azerbaijan national team will face Estonia away on October 11 in the UEFA Nations League and will meet Slovakia in Baku three days later.
