"Ajax is one of the top clubs," said Arif Asadov, former coach of the Azerbaijan national football team, in an interview with Idman.biz.
He shared his thoughts on today’s UEFA Europa League Group Stage match between Qarabag and Ajax, set to take place in Baku. The experienced coach emphasized that the opponent regularly competes in the Champions League and has even won trophies: "It will be a tough game. After two defeats, Qarabag may face psychological pressure, but this match could be a turning point. Everyone considers Ajax the favorite, but Qarabag have nothing to lose."
According to Asadov, if the Azerbaijani champion uses its experience and playing style, it could surprise the Dutch team: "It will be an interesting match. If Qarabag show their strength from the first minutes, the game could swing in their favor. In my opinion, they will secure at least one point. Even if we lose, it shouldn’t be seen as a disaster, as long as Qarabag don't lose in terms of gameplay."
The Qarabag vs Ajax match will kick off at 20:45 at the Tofig Bahramov Stadium.
