Ukrainian club Metalist player Ramik Hajiyev revealed that scouts from the Azerbaijani national team had offered him to play for Azerbaijan.
However, Hajiyev, born in Azerbaijan, declined, expressing his preference to represent Ukraine instead. Although scouts assured him that obtaining an Azerbaijani passport would be straightforward, Hajiyev felt a stronger connection to Ukraine and confirmed his desire to aim for a spot on their national team.
Hajiyev, previously with Dnipro-1, has already played seven matches for Ukraine’s U19 team, further solidifying his commitment to pursue a future with Ukraine's national squad.
