As we approach one-third of the season in the Misli Premier League, 58 matches have taken place over 12 rounds, resulting in 14 penalties awarded.
According to Idman.biz, 10 of these penalties have led to goals, giving a conversion rate of 71.4% for players from the penalty spot.
Turan Tovuz have been awarded the most penalties, with four opportunities, but they have missed half of them. Notably, half of the penalties that were missed came from the Western teams.
Sabah have successfully taken three penalty kicks, while seven out of the ten teams in the Premier League have had penalty opportunities. However, three clubs— Neftchi, Shamakhi, and Sumgayit—have yet to approach the penalty spot.
The distribution of penalties among clubs is as follows: Turan Tovuz – 4 penalties (2 missed), Sabah – 3 (1 missed), Araz-Nakhchivan and Zira – 2 each, and Qarabag, Kapaz, and Sabail – 1 each (with Sabail missing their penalty).
During the season's first part, penalties have been awarded to nine different teams. Five clubs received two penalties each, while four clubs were penalized once. Araz-Nakhchivan have yet to concede a penalty this season.
The clubs penalized are: Sabail and Shamakhi – 2 each, Qarabag, Sumgayit, and Kapaz – 2 (1 missed), Sabah, Turan, and Zira – 1 each, and Neftchi – 1 (1 missed).
A penalty has been awarded approximately every 4.14 matches or 373 minutes of play in the current championship.
