The Azerbaijan Football Federation (AFFA) is interested in naturalizing another promising player with Azerbaijani roots.
Sixteen-year-old Rolan Mustafayev, currently a standout for Ukraine’s U-17 team and playing for the academy of the Ukrainian club "Rux," has caught the federation’s attention, as reported by Idman.biz.
Rolan's brother, Emil Mustafayev—who plays for Polissya and debuted for the Azerbaijan national team in March against Mongolia (1:0)—expressed his desire to play alongside his brother for Azerbaijan. In an interview with Sportal.az, Emil shared, "Yes, Rolan is currently playing for Ukraine’s national team. To be honest, it’s my dream to play for the Azerbaijan national team with my brother. However, the decision on which team he will represent is entirely his choice. Time will tell."
The possibility of uniting the Mustafayev brothers on the Azerbaijani national squad could strengthen the team’s lineup, adding another skilled winger to their ranks.
