Former Azerbaijan national team forward Vadim Vasilyev has had his treatment period extended for another year.
In a recent statement to Report, the veteran footballer, who suffered a stroke, expressed his concerns, Idman.biz reports.
He mentioned that while he is receiving medication, he is not receiving any financial support and is currently looking for work: “I go to the hospital every day for electrotherapy and exercise. The doctors have told me that I need at least another year for the recovery process. I’m taking my medications. I’m a sick person; who would want to hire me? No one cares, and no one is offering help. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation is assisting me with my medications, but there is no financial support. I want to work.”
The 52-year-old veteran played for the Azerbaijan national team from 1999 to 2003, participating in 33 matches and scoring 2 goals.
