Joshgun Abdullayev WAR MEMORIES - INTERVIEW

Joshgun Abdullayev, the doctor of the main team of Kepez football club, is a participant of the 44-day Patriotic War, as well as the April battles and the anti-terrorist operation.

The lieutenant colonel of the reserve medical service took care of the health of our wounded military personnel during the war, Idman.biz reports.

Commander-in-Chief was awarded the medals For the liberation of Lachin, For the liberation of Kalbajar and the 3rd class Service to the Fatherland order by the relevant decrees of President Ilham Aliyev.

He shared his memories of the war years with the press service of the club.

- Doctor, today is one of the great days in the history of our country. Azerbaijan celebrates Victory Day. We would like to go back to what happened four years ago. How do you remember those days as a war participant, a military doctor?

- First of all, I wish God's mercy to our martyrs who gave us this victory, and good health to our veterans. The 44-day Patriotic War is one of the most glorious pages in the history of our country. Our lands, which were held by the enemy for many years, were liberated by the mighty Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief. We had a small share in the victory as a doctor and officer serving in the Armed Forces. We have gone through painful days. During the war, together with the staff of our hospital, we served our wounded on the front line. We are watching over their health. We played a role in removing the wounded from the battlefield in a short period of time and bringing them back to life in good health.

- In those days, President Ilham Aliyev addressed our people through television and told which villages, district centers, and cities were to be liberated. Unlike us viewers, you got to know these news earlier. What feelings did you have?

- They were irreplaceable feelings. It is very difficult to express them in words. With the liberation of any village or city that had been under occupation for 30 years, our hearts were filled with pride. We were all happy that our lands were freed from occupation in a short period of time, that our losses were few, and that the war ended with victory.

- During the war, what episode or event is constantly reviving in front of your eyes?

- During the war, a field hospital was established in the village of Khanlig, Gubadli. From the first day we started medical activities there, there was enthusiasm in the army units on the front line. As they advanced, we followed our soldiers and officers. Because the distance to bring the wounded to the hospital was reduced. This eliminated the loss of time. The wounded in the battle were brought to the hospital in a short time, where we could provide them with the necessary services. I still vividly remember what happened to several soldiers. One of our soldiers lost one of his legs as a result of a mine explosion. We were very surprised by his fighting ability and enthusiasm. Despite his condition, he wanted to be sent to the war zone as soon as possible without feeling pain. He was hurrying to his fellow soldiers, to the battle position. We had many such soldiers. Their sacrifice left us in awe.
