Tomorrow, Azerbaijan national team will play their final home match of 2024.
According to Idman.biz, Azerbaijan will host Estonia in the fifth round of the UEFA Nations League.
The match will be held at the Gabala City Stadium. In recent years, the team has made a powerful end to the season in front of home fans.
Last year, they stunned Sweden with three goals and defeated Kazakhstan in the last home game of 2022. For two consecutive years, Azerbaijan’s final visitors have faced heavy defeats.
This time, the team aims to extend the streak to three in Gabala. Securing a convincing victory over Estonia would be ideal for improving their position in the standings.
Looking at the national team’s last home games over the past decade, the record is favorable. They have won five, drawn two, and lost three of their final home games each year. Although nine of these matches were played in Baku, one game took place in Zaprešić, Croatia, which also ended positively. Over the last four years, the team has been unbeaten in its final home games, with two wins and two draws. The last loss came five years ago.
