Turan Tovuz will rebrand itself with a new name and logo for the 2025/2026 Azerbaijan Premier League season.
Idman.biz reports that the club's Deputy Chairman of the Board and Director of Infrastructure and Finance, Ali Balakishiyev, confirmed the news.
He stated that the club has officially requested approval from the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) to rename the team to Turan.
" We have already submitted a formal letter to change the name from Turan Tovuz to Turan. We are currently awaiting a response. Once approved, we will unveil a new logo alongside the new name at the start of the season," Balakishiyev explained.
He added that the club has shortlisted several logo designs, and final approval from the Chairman of the Board, Ehtiram Guliyev, is pending. However, the rebranding process hinges on the official name change to Turan.
Balakishiyev assured fans that the rebranded Turan would continue the legacy of Turan Tovuz:
"The efforts we have made at Turan Tovuz are evident. Led by Chairman Ehtiram Guliyev, we are committed to restoring the team’s historic image. The name Turan resonates more deeply with our supporters. I’d like to clarify that Turan will carry on as the successor of Turan Tovuz."
This decision marks a significant step in the club's ambition to strengthen its identity and connection with fans.
