Football clubs arrive in Baku for COP29 - PHOTO

The football clubs participating in the creation of an alliance to combat climate change have arrived in Baku as part of the 29th Session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).

According to Idman.biz, the initiative is spearheaded by the Qarabag Football Club in collaboration with the COP29 Presidency, the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UN FCCC), and the European Club Association (ECA).

The alliance will initially comprise 11 renowned football clubs, including:
- Liverpool, Tottenham (England)
- Atletico Madrid, Real Betis (Spain)
- Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray (Turkiye)
- Udinese (Italy)
- Porto (Portugal)
- Flamengo (Brazil)
- Malmö (Sweden)
- Qarabag (Azerbaijan)

These clubs have been recognized for their proactive approach and impactful projects addressing climate change and sustainability. During the event, the clubs will sign a document formalizing the alliance and present their unique sustainability initiatives.
