Over the summer, several players left Qarabag to continue their careers abroad. While some, like Andrey Lunev, left fond memories, others, such as Hamidou Keita, were considered more impactful. Here's a look at their current status and performance in their new clubs.
Andrey Lunev – Dynamo Moscow (Russia)
After three years, the experienced goalkeeper returned to Russia, signing a two-year deal with Dynamo Moscow. He has featured in 14 of their 15 Russian Premier League matches, totaling 1249 minutes. Lunev has kept four clean sheets and conceded 16 goals in the other ten matches.
Dynamo Moscow currently ranks 4th with 30 points after 15 rounds in a 16-team league.
Hamidou Keita – Konyaspor (Turkiye)
Keita joined Konyaspor in September after starting the season with Qarabag. The French winger has played eight matches in the Turkish Super Lig, scoring one goal against Trabzonspor. His total playtime is 211 minutes, with only one start.
Konyaspor sits 10th in the 19-team league with 14 points from 12 matches.
Luka Gugeshashvili – Panserraikos (Greece)
The Georgian goalkeeper moved to Greece after limited opportunities at Qarabag. He has become a key player for Panserraikos, starting all 11 league matches and playing full minutes. Gugeshashvili has kept two clean sheets but conceded 21 goals in nine games.
Panserraikos is 10th in the 14-team league with 10 points.
Adama Diakhaby Bandırmaspor (Turkiye)
Diakhaby, once a promising signing for Qarabag, continues to struggle in Turkiye's First League with Bandırmaspor. Out of 12 league matches, he was included in eight matchday squads, starting only twice. Despite 221 minutes of play, he has neither scored nor provided an assist.
Bandırmaspor, however, is performing well as a team, standing 2nd with 24 points and pushing for promotion to the Super Lig.
Qarabag's former players have had mixed fortunes in their new clubs, with some excelling while others face challenges (Sportinfo.az).
