The draw for the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers has been completed, revealing the seedings for the teams in the European zone.
According to Idman.biz, 54 teams have been divided into five pots. Four pots contain 12 teams each, while the last one includes 6 teams. Azerbaijan's national team has been placed in Pot 4, alongside several other teams.
Pot 1: Spain, Portugal, Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands, Denmark, Croatia, England, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria.
Pot 2: Ukraine, Turkiye, Sweden, Wales, Hungary, Serbia, Poland, Greece, Romania, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Norway.
Port 3: Scotland, Slovenia, Ireland, Albania, North Macedonia, Georgia, Finland, Iceland, Northern Ireland, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Israel.
Pot 4: Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Belarus, Kosovo, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Cyprus, Faeroe Islands, Latvia, Lithuania.
Pot 5: Moldova, Malta, Andorra, Gibraltar, Liechtenstein, San Marino.
The 54 teams will compete in 12 groups during the qualification stage. Six groups will have five teams, while the remaining six will have four teams. The group winners will qualify directly for the final tournament. The second-place teams, along with four teams from the Nations League, will compete in a playoff for the remaining spots.
The draw will take place on December 13 in Zurich, Switzerland.
