Brazilian national team forward Vinícius Júnior has discovered his Cameroonian roots.
According to Idman.biz, the revelation came after a DNA test confirmed that his ancestors belonged to the Tikar tribe of Cameroon. The 24-year-old striker was officially presented with a certificate acknowledging his heritage. This discovery took place just before Brazil's World Cup 2026 qualifying match against Uruguay.
Vinícius Júnior also wore a special shirt adorned with both the Brazilian and Cameroonian flags to mark the occasion.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
