Arif Isayev, a former Gabala player who played for the regional club for two seasons, said this in an interview with Sportal.az, Idman.biz reports.
He commented on his former team's celebration of the First League championship and qualification for the Premier League.
According to Isayev, Gabala has a completely different place in his heart: "It's true, I have great respect for other clubs I played for. Gabala is completely different. Of course, I support this team. I was saddened by their relegation. But they played very well there and returned to the Premier League. This makes me very happy. To be honest, I was confident and knew that Gabala would return, that they would not stay in the First League for many years. They will not stay. They returned to the top league again. I hope that they will perform successfully in the top league again."
