Qarabag captain Badavi Huseynov has become an Azerbaijani champion for the 11th time.
The 34-year-old defender secured the gold medal for the 2024/25 Misli Premier League season alongside his team following Matchday 32, Idman.biz reports.
Having joined Qarabag in the summer of 2012, Huseynov has won all his titles with the Aghdam club. Prior to this season, he had been crowned champion in 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20, 2021/22, 2022/23, and 2023/24.
With this latest triumph, Huseynov has equaled a historic record in Azerbaijani football. He now matches Mahmud Gurbanov’s achievement of 11 national championship titles. Unlike Huseynov, Gurbanov reached this milestone across six different clubs: Kapaz (1994/95, 1997/98, 1998/99), Neftchi (1996/97, 2003/04, 2004/05), Shamkir (1999/2000, 2000/01), Khazar Lankaran (2006/07), Inter Baku (2007/08), and Baku FC (2008/09).
